Newton's First Law : Inertia

Q :  States Newton's First Law
A :  Newton's first law states that " Every object continues in its state of rest or of uniform speed in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force/outside force"


Example Question & Answer
Q : A boy in a bus moving with a uniform speed in a straight line drops a steel sphere at rest outside the window.He observed that the steel sphere drops vertically downward. Explain
A : Initially, the steel sphere moves with the same velocity as the bus. At the time as it falls downward, it also move forwards ( due to inertia) with the same velocity as the boy.Therefore, to the boy's eye, it is falling
downwards vertically.
